There was an increase in criminal appeals filed for 2023, rising from 337 in 2022 to 454 in 2023. Total filings of writs and appeals in 2023 totaled 4,142, compared to 4,145 in 2022. This figure was 164 less than the 1,899 cases filed with the court in 2022, 269 less than the 1,994 filed in 2021, and 220 more than the 1,505 case initiations in 2020. In 2023, a total of 1,725 cases were initiated with the clerk of court in the Louisiana Supreme Court. An appeal from one of the federal district courts in Louisiana goes to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, also located in New Orleans. These courts handle both civil and criminal cases, including disputes over federal laws, constitutional rights, and crimes like drug trafficking, as well as specialized cases, such as bankruptcy filings.

New capabilities include the HPE Morpheus Orchestration Copilot and HPE Morpheus Central, enabling centralized management of heterogeneous IT environments.

HPE Private Cloud AI offers enterprise customers the ability to leverage NVIDIA® AI Enterprise (NVAIE) portfolio, including NVIDIA Inferencing Microservices (NIM), and HPE portfolio of curated market-adopted open-source AI tools and platforms with full private control of their data. HPE Private Cloud AI is a codeveloped Hewlett Packard Enterprise and NVIDIA enterprise purpose-built solution, including a completed infrastructure, software portfolio, and AI model library managed through HPE GreenLake to offer a private AI in a box. HPE Private Cloud AI is a purpose-built solution designed to provide fast and easy deployment of private AI applications with a focus on inferencing, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and fine-tuning. These configurations are based on NVIDIA reference architectures and support use cases from AI development through production-scale deployment, with NVIDIA AI Enterprise software and the HPE Unleash AI ecosystem.
For data center operations, HPE introduced a cloud-managed networking service that automates day-two operations, predictive optimization, and configuration management. The HPE Aruba Networking Central platform now serves as a unified management layer that coordinates security policies, device configurations, observability, and operational controls across enterprise networks. The system is designed to support increasingly complex multi-billion-parameter AI models while maximizing computational density and energy efficiency. The deployment is centered on the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 by HPE platform, a liquid-cooled architecture engineered for large-scale AI training, inference, and private cloud workloads. These platforms support air-gapped deployments for sovereign environments and are progressing toward Department of Defense Impact Level 4 (IL4) certification readiness. To accelerate enterprise adoption, HPE launched dedicated migration and partner programs designed to reduce the complexity of infrastructure modernization. The platform introduces the HPE OpsRamp Operations Copilot, delivering advanced observability for large language models (LLMs), real-time infrastructure insights, and comprehensive monitoring of hybrid cloud consumption and spending. A major focus of the conference was the expansion of HPE GreenLake Intelligence, which now incorporates an agentic AI framework designed to simplify hybrid cloud and AI operations.

Louisiana's court system comprises 5 courts of appeal, 42 district courts, 5 family or juvenile courts, 50 city courts, and 3 parish courts. Civil cases include torts, contracts, real property, small claims, mental health, probate or estate, and civil appeals. In a civil case, a plaintiff (or the person filing a complaint in court) requests the protection or enforcement of a right or prevention or the redress of a wrong that is not a crime. Louisiana law also divides small claims courts within city courts, where claims up to $5,000 can be filed. Parish courts share original jurisdiction with district courts over certain criminal offenses that are punishable by a fine of up to $1,000, imprisonment for up to 6 months, or both. The Family Court of East Baton Rouge Parish holds exclusive jurisdiction over matters such as divorce, annulment, paternity disputes, child and spousal support, and child visitation and custody issues. District courts share jurisdiction with justices of the peace and city courts in civil cases involving specific monetary limits and also have concurrent jurisdiction over juvenile and misdemeanor cases where a separate juvenile court is not available. In Orleans Parish, the district court is divided into criminal and civil divisions, with 14 judges for civil cases and 10 judges plus one magistrate for criminal cases. Across these 40 districts, 170 district judges are elected to serve a total of six years.
